Kevin Roche

Founder, Facilitator

Insightful • Creative • Fun • Thoughtful • Irreverent • Patient • Inspired • Committed

That’s Kevin in 8 words.

Kevin took his formal background in quality management and has had a 40 year adventure during which he has provided impactful, life changing, and organization growing leadership development content. 20 years ago, he began incorporating theater into his programming by creating realistic dramatizations based on real occurrences in the client’s workplace. (He’ll bristle at having them called role plays...go ahead, try it, and see why)

He’ll tell you that his company didn’t invent leadership development training, they just made it worth paying for. Kevin has designed and delivered leadership development programs from senior leader level through work with trade workers. (He’ll tell you the jury is still out on who is smarter.) He has trained thousands of leaders in the most demanding industry imaginable, nuclear power. He has worked in the nuclear power industry for 24 years, as well as in numerous other markets such as pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, and both light and heavy manufacturing. He hasn’t forgotten his roots and can bring in where necessary quality management approaches such as six-sigma and lean manufacturing.

He has a warm, engaging style that instantly puts participants at all levels at ease. And, just to keep everyone engaged and honest, has a bit of an edge. Kevin lives in Chicago, a few blocks away from Wrigley Field, is a lifelong Cubs fan, loves the lakefront and dogs, being predisposed to St. Bernards.

Ashleigh Trahan

Senior Associate

Purpose-Driven • Creative • Funny • Bold • Energetic • Adventurous • Innovative • Curious

That’s Ashleigh in 8 words.

Ashleigh is a Senior Associate with KJR & Associates who’s been shaking things up in leadership development and talent management for 15 years, with a focus on the nuclear industry. She is particularly skilled at crafting experiential learning activities and incorporating them into programs that impact people at a gut level. These programs stick because they are built from real-world stuff, the kind of experiences that people are familiar with in both their work lives but also in their personal lives. Because people can relate to the programming she creates because it’s authentic, they are also able to see how they can quickly apply it both at work and away from work. She has a wide range of experiences in the field of leadership development, in both the size of the companies she has worked for and with, but also in the diversity of the markets they represented.

She has worked in energy, oil and gas, academia, consulting, and non-profits. Most recently she was an instructor at The University of Victoria where she was responsible for their experiential education program. Ashleigh is a certified executive coach and can instantly connect with people, allowing her to meet them where they are, help them realize what makes them tick, and enable them to develop their own unique superpower. Ashleigh’s combines an easygoing relatable style with warmth, genuineness, and sense of humor that endears her to individuals and groups.

Ashleigh’s cool factor? She calls a 32-foot tiny house her home, of her own design which rolls on wheels. Her design was so well executed and her tiny home so livable it’s been featured by on the A&E network, Dwell, and Maclean’s Magazine. Although she will tell you it was no big thing, she hiked the 500 mile/800km Camino de Santiago. When she is not working, she is out in the wild plotting her next big adventure with her rescue Sheltie, Sunny.
